This Week’s Phin Four

17 Jul

The four thoughts that struck The Bottlenose this week, while he was dodging tarballs in the Gulf.

1) Without Fergie in the middle, the Randy Starks nose tackle experiment better pan out. No doubt Randy is a beast, but without the mid-season return of Ferguson to look forward to, the pressure’s on him to wreck shop in the middle.

2) I’m still nervous about our RB situation behind Ronnie and Ricky. Ricky could walk away at any time. Ronnie could limp away at any time, or leave via free agency in the near future. I don’t think we have the next stud on our roster right now.

3) Patrick Cobbs better not be our kick returner this season. He’s one of the worst in the league, to be honest. Can you imagine him taking one the distance? Neither can I. Suggestions? Pat White. Ryan Grice-Mullen.

4) Let this be the last stupid thing Brian Hartline does for a good long while. Hey buddy, you’re the favorite to start at wideout for one of the most storied franchises in football history. You can walk in the footsteps of Warfield, Moore, Clayton, Duper, and McDuffie. Now isn’t the time to crap the bed.

Talk at you soon, Dolphin Nation.

Its gonna be interesting how our final 53 play out. There will definitely be some tough cuts. If RGM ends up the returner I’d say I’d rather have Ginn at $1.1m returning kicks and deep patterns. He wasn’t great but atleast a threat.

This Starks exp. And selection of Odrick could loom huge with Ferg retiring. Worst case was Starks holds down the fort 8 games then goes back to DE. Now the pressures on him and Soliai to come up big.

    GO FINS!!
