BOTTLENOSE POLL: Who Do You Want to Be Our Kick Returner?

5 Aug

Alrighty folks, not too long before the season starts. The wheel keeps on turning as far as our kick returner search goes. Sheets is out of the running for 2010, but there are still plenty of possibilities left.

PATRICK COBBS – Has experience, but ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league in return average. Not to mention he’s returning from a major knee injury.

RYAN GRICE-MULLEN – Bess’ old Hawaii teammate was a good return man in the CFL, but also needs to show some value as a receiver to take up a roster spot.

NOLAN CARROLL – Has shown promise as a cornerback. Could be the sleeper out of this draft class. If he’s going to make the roster as a backup on defense, should we make this speedster also earn his keep on returns?

TRISTAN DAVIS – He was a dangerous return man at Auburn, but how many RBs can we keep on the roster? Seems like Cobbs and Hilliard are locks to be around come gameday. Will we keep five?

PAT WHITE – This idea hasn’t even been tried yet, or discussed in Davie as far as we know. Still, where else will this kid ever make an impact? He’s got some speed, and is dangerous in the open field.

Who would you like to see back there, Dolphin Nation?

Too early to tell. Cobbs is the only one we’ve seen return kicks. We’ll have a much better idea of their abilities in a few weeks. Great poll for week 3 or 4 of the preseason.

Yes, but I’ve definitely seen enough of Cobbs! By week 3 or 4 we’ll know too much. What fun is picking a favorite after Nolan Carroll takes one to the house against the Bucs?

Thanks for stopping by The Bottlenose, Richard. Hope to see you around again soon.

I know the poll is all in fun, but I’d at least like to see the candidates play before I make a pick- just something to base my opinion on. Week 3-4 may just be too much, but I’m thinking it might take a couple of games for all of them to get their oppotunities. It’s exciting just being able to have this discussion. Football is back baby!!

Can’t believe it’s less than ten days before we get to see the aqua and orange take the field! Is it weird that my eyes well up just thinking about it?

    Fulton Walker

Fulton brought his A-Game when it mattered most. Sadly, the rest of the team stayed at the hotel. Frown.

I SAY BEG THE FORTYNINERS TO LET US HAVE TED GINN BACK! OTHERWISE, CARROLL IS THE NEXT CHOICE.

It’s true. The Ginn thing will be a sore spot if we don’t find a replacement with some skills. Teddy sure could leave ’em in the dust. He excelled when he wasn’t asked to catch passes. Problematic for a wide receiver.
