Did the Steelers Debacle Hand Us Randy Moss?

2 Nov

Allow me to paint as sunny a future as possible, in which Miami is successful in claiming the enigmatic Randy “Crazylegs” Moss, who in turn becomes the model player, signing for a few years in South Beach and teaming with Henne, Marshall and Bess to bring the rest of the league to its knees.

Were that unlikely scenario to happen, it could very well have been set in motion during that clouded mess of a finish against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when the refs on the field and the schlubs in the booth were unable to huddle up in the name of justice and sanity. That moment of disbelief, when Dolphin Nation sounded its mighty blowhole in anger and hate, has now left us in an infinitely better position to land the recently waived Moss.

Without the loss against Pittsburgh we would be 31st on the waiver wire. That’s right, we’re 13 spots higher on the list due to that fateful collision between Big Ben and Chris Clemons. There are about 1,700 teams at 5-2, and the tiebreaker (combined record of teams played) would put us next to last in that clump. Yep, it would be Miami at 31, then the Patsies, and some very possible destinations, Tennessee, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, could have snagged Moss before us.

So, is this merely a pathetic attempt by a Dolfan to find a silver lining on an catastrophic ending that still has me losing a few winks at night? Of course it is. But, should we emerge as the winner of the Randy Moss sweepstakes, and if one of the next 12 teams also puts in a claim, and if my best case scenario above comes to pass?

Well then we can thank those two zebras from Western Pennsylvania. And I certainly wasn’t planning on thanking those numbskulls anytime soon.

Whoever gets Moss will be the loser of that sweepstakes. Moss wants to play in New England. Why? Who knows, they didn’t want him, did they. I think if he goes somewhere else eventually he’ll quit again. This isn’t our year. Patience. Next year go after that speedy wo. Someone we can sign to 4 or 5 years and nurture into our system. JMHO.

Hopefully a speedy rb too. No doubt the odds of Randy Moss’ next destination working out are slim. Just asking what if.

      Thanks for the comment!

The Steelers would be 4-3, and not behind Miami. So, it would be 31.

Actually, if we won vs pitt we would be 5-2 and the pats would still be 6-1, we’d still pick before them.

    enough with the “crazylegs” bs.
    you sound like a rehtard
