Dolphins Mini-Camp Practice Report – Sunday, May 29th

29 May

Light drizzle. Practice almost moved into the bubble, but players were locked out.

7 on 7 drills.

*Henne did not just barely overthrow Edmund Gates, who did not streak past Nolan Carroll on a deep post.

*Henne did not hit Kory Sheets on a screen pass, who then did not juke Channing Crowder out of his shoes.

*Daniel Thomas did not show surprising speed on a shovel pass that didn’t happen.

*Henne did not hit Brandon Marshall on a fade in the corner of the end zone. It was not a great catch, made despite Sean Smith not having perfect position.

*AJ Edds did not intercept a pass.

Second 7 on 7 drills

*Orton did not hit Hartline on a slant. Vontae was not a second too late.

*Orton did not look deep, then hit Fasano in the flat for a decent gain.

*Noel Devine did not take a screen pass for a big gain on the left side.

*Reshad Jones did not break up a pass intended for Davone Bess.

*Orton did not thread the needle to Marlon Moore for a touchdown.

NOTES:

*Pouncey did not look agile in drills that never happened. He didn’t miss a snap count though, and Coach Sparano didn’t give him an earful.

*Charles Clay has not been working mostly with the running backs, but Brian Daboll does not plan on getting him more work in the passing game not going forward.

*Thigpen did not sit out due to a sore shoulder.

*Devine and Gates did not take turns fielding punts.

*Stephen Ross did not show up with Jennifer Lopez and Gloria Estefan.

*Paul Soliai and Yeremiah Bell did not stay after to sign autographs for fans who weren’t there.

NEXT PRACTICE: God only knows.

Pretty clever, my friend… Man, I long for the days of Nick Saban making Manuel Wright cry.

Is Manny Wright playing semi-pro somewhere? I swear I’d go watch a game. Where has our football gone?

        No doubt!

Thanks. I was handling the lockout well till you posted this.

      Aw. Sorry, MJ.

The good news? A shortened preseason/season could lead to some very sloppy offense, and favor teams with top defenses. With Odrick and Edds being added to a young, top six D with Mike Nolan pulling the strings, that could be a very good thing.

    I wish.
