NFL Livas?

26 Jul

The Dolphins followed up the signing of speedy Arizona back Nic Grigsby with the addition of Louisiana Tech’s Phillip Livas, perhaps the most dangerous return man in the nation. The 5’8 175lb speed demon is listed as just a kick returner, but a look at his highlights certainly shows him making plays on offense as well. His 40 times have been safely in the 4.3s, and it’s hard to see how he wouldn’t at least help our anemic special teams. We signed return specialist Clifton Smith briefly last season, but cut him after a handful of touches, to add a 3rd TE to the roster. Perhaps it’s time for us to make space on the roster for a bolt of lightning like this. We’ve seen special teams win and lose games time and time again.

Grigsby and Livas, and Gates talk about speed. I think we’ll only be able to keep one of grigsby or livas though

I like that we’re making moves on the speed front at least. You may be right about only keeping one, although Grigsby’s a RB and Livas is technically a WR. If they both have great preseasons, crazier things have happened.
